CHARLESTON, S.C. - Former Oklahoma State golfer Chris Tidland will make his return to the PGA Tour next year after securing his card with a top-25 finish on the Nationwide Tour's money list.
After finishing 27th on Sunday at the Nationwide Tour Championship, Tidland wrapped up the season ranked sixth on the Tour's money list with $354,510 in earnings.
"It has been great out here. I have been tested twice on the PGA Tour and basically failed both times, so it is great to have a place like this tour to come back to and play against great competition on a weekly basis," Tidland said.
"This tour has helped me grow my game and helped me see how I feel under pressure and how my game holds up. Hopefully, this time out I will handle it better."
The Stillwater resident made 21 Nationwide Tour starts this past season, finishing in the top 10 on six occasions. Tidland earned his second career victory at the Preferred Health Systems Wichita Open and also had runner-up showings at the South Georgia Classic and the Fort Smith Classic.
Tidland has made 60 starts on the PGA Tour with his best finish coming at the 2007 AT&T Classic where he tied for sixth place.
Tidland starred for the Cowboys from 1992-95 and earned first-team All-America status twice.
