Cross Country Teams Travel to Arkansas

The Basics
The Oklahoma State men's and women's cross country teams travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete at the Chile Pepper Festival, hosted by the University of Arkansas on Saturday. The men's 10,000 meter race begins at 9:45 a.m. The 6,000 meter women's race is scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m. Both races will be contested on the University of Arkansas cross country course.
OSU Lineups
The Cowgirls will send nine runners to Fayetteville. Junior Mihaela Susa will lead the way for the Cowgirls. She will be joined by Natalia Kovtun, Jacqueline Campos, Teran Mixon, Victoria Fratczak, Alyse Goldsmith, Kelli Quimby, Melanie Funke and Laura Heaton. The Cowboys will put 11 runners on the course with German Fernandez and Ryan Vail leading the way. John Kosgei, Colby Lowe, David Chirchir, Ryan Prentice, John Stublaski, Ryan Little, Daniel Watts, Sean Fleming and Peter Wood will also suit up for OSU.
Last Time Out
Running without German Fernandez and Ryan Vail, the Cowboys posted a fourth-place finish at the Cowboy Jamboree. Senior John Kosgei finished in third place individually, while sophomore Colby Lowe finished a second behind in fourth place. The Cowgirls notched an 11th-place finish at their home event. Junior Mihaela Susa posted a sixth-place finish for the Cowgirls, while sophomore Victoria Fratczak was 32nd.
OSU in the Polls
The Cowboys grabbed the No. 4 spot in the Week Three United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association rankings. Stanford is ranked No. 1. OSU droppped two spots after its fourth-place showing at the Cowboy Jamboree. In the USTFCCCA Midwest Region rankings, the Cowboys are No. 1 while the Cowgirls are ranked No. 13.
