Oct. 10, 2009
:: Oklahoma State played Saturday's game without All-America WR Dez Bryant (suspension) and All-America RB Kendall Hunter (Injury). Both players missed the last game against Grambling State as well.
:: Back in the lineup for the Cowboys was DE Jermiah Price, who had missed the previous two games with a hand injury, and CB Perrish Cox who was out last game with a shoulder injury.
:: Saturday's game captains for OSU were WR DeMarcus Conner, LB Donald Booker and FS Markelle Martin.
:: Texas A&M won the toss and declined. OSU received the opening kickoff.
:: For the third consecutive game, Oklahoma State forced its opponent to a three-and-out on its opening possession of the game.
:: Zac Robinson connected with RB Keith Toston on a 34-yard screen pass in the first quarter. The reception was the longest of Toston's career until the two connected on a 40-yard screen pass later in the quarter. Toston finished the game with 74 receiving yards to set a new single-game career high.
:: Texas A&M entered the game ranked second nationally in total offense, averaging 545.25 yards per game. The Aggies finished with 382 yards. In a similar fashion, Texas A&M was fourth nationally with 4.0 sacks per game entering the contest. The Aggies recorded no sacks Saturday.
:: Keith Toston's 130 rushing yards Saturday upped his career total to 1,917. That total puts him in sole possession of 19th place on Oklahoma State's career list. He passed Jim Dillard (1,840 yards), Jamaal Fobbs (1,847), Robert Turner (1,861) and Brent Blackman (1,870) during Saturday's game.
:: Keith Toston finished with 130 rushing yards, his first time over the 100-yard total since the Troy game on Sept. 27, 2008, when he rushed for 114. :: Keith Toston scored on a two-point conversion in the third quarter. That score moved him into OSU's career scoring top-20. He now has 140 career points.
:: The Cowboys got on the board first when Zac Robinson rolled out for a three-yard touchdown run in the first quarter. The Pokes entered Saturday's game with a 2-0 record when scoring first, with wins coming over Rice and Grambling State.
:: Robinson's run capped a four-play, 49-yard drive that spanned only one minute and 15 seconds. :: Sophomore DE Richetti Jones enjoyed a productive game with 1.5 sacks.
:: Special teams played a large role in the first half, with Texas A&M recording a long kickoff return, downing a punt inside the OSU 10-yard line, missing a field goal attempt and scoring a two-point conversion off a bad snap on a PAT attempt. OSU bounced a snap to punter Quinn Sharp that resulted in a 21-yard punt.
:: Defensive tackle Swanson Miller sacked Texas A&M QB Jerrod Johnson in the second half for a nine-yard loss and forced, then recovered the fumble on the same play. It was the first sack of Miller's career.
:: Robinson connected with Hubert Anyiam on a 27-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter to cap a five-play, 53 yard, one-minute, 57-second drive. Including that drive, OSU has now posted nine touchdown drives of two minutes or less this season. Anyiam's TD catch was the first of his career.
:: Oklahoma State's defense posted a goal-line stand when it held Texas A&M out of the endzone on a fourth-and-goal attempt from the two-yard line late in the second quarter.
:: Robinson connected with freshman Tracy Moore on a 51-yard touchdown reception at the 8:42 mark of the third quarter. It was the longest offensive scoring play of the year for OSU and capped a four-play, 63-yard drive. Including that drive, the Cowboys have now recorded 13 touchdown drives of five plays or less this year.
:: The Robinson-to-Moore scoring pass was the longest pass play of the year so far for OSU.
:: Oklahoma State's 16-play, 93-yard scoring drive with 7:15 remaining was the longest this season and the longest since the Holiday Bowl last season when the Cowboys went on a 99-yard drive. The 16 plays are the most since a 16-play scoring drive against Troy on Sept. 27 of last year, and the 7:41 is the longest since that same game when the drive lasted 8:22.
