OSU To Launch 2009 Football Season Ticket Renewal Campaign
January 21, 2009 | Cowboy Football
STILLWATER Â Oklahoma State University will be launching its football season ticket renewal campaign on February 1.
Following the highlight-laden 9-4 season of 2008, optimism is running high due to the Cowboys' break out year that featured a climb into the top 10, historic road victories, and the selection of three All-Americans.
While competitive strides are being made each year, the athletic department decided to hold ticket and donor seat prices for 2009.
“Our football program is heading in the right direction,” said OSU's Athletic Director, Mike Holder. “We believe the decision to hold the ticket and donor seat pricing is the right choice. We set new records in season ticket sales and attendance last season. Our goal is to eventually sell out the stadium with season tickets.
Season ticket prices for 2009 are set at $479 for the first eight-game home season in OSU history. Donor seating prices will remain the same as the 2008 season; donor information will be sent in late January. No single-game tickets will be available for the home opener against the University of Georgia. The only way to see the game against the Bulldogs is with a season ticket.
For the third consecutive season, OSU will offer an online season-ticket purchasing program and new payment plans aimed at making it as easy as possible for current and new Cowboy season ticket holders to acquire their 2009 season tickets. The payment plans provide flexibility and convenience and have been well received by patrons.
The three plans offer a choice of four, five or six installments with the first payment not due until February 15, March 15, or April 15 depending on the plan. When using one of the online payment plans, the final payment is not due until July 15, 2009. Season ticket holders preferring to purchase their tickets in full have until May 1, 2009, to make payment.
“We had a tremendous response the last two years from Cowboy fans who told us they wanted a more convenient way to purchase their season tickets with payment options,” Holder said. “This fan-friendly approach to season ticket renewals, coupled with no increase on season tickets and donor seating, supports our goal to provide features and new services to loyal customers.”
Details on the OSU online season ticket purchasing program are available by clicking the ticket icon on the OSU athletic website at www.okstate.com and following the instructions. Information is also available by calling toll-free 877-ALL-4OSU.
“Season ticket and donor seating revenues are important because they fund daily operations, which include paying down our debt,” Holder added. “While our budget is still ranked ninth compared to our Big 12 conference peers, the expanded Boone Pickens Stadium bodes well for us long-term. As our football program continues to improve, we are on track to strengthen our overall financial position.”
OSU will open its 2009 football season against the University of Georgia on September 5th. This will be the first contest in the newly completed Boone Pickens Stadium.
