Sport The Vote! To Be Held Sept. 30

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Oklahoma State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is hosting Sport the Vote!, a voter-registration event, on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena.
Sport the Vote! offers OSU student-athletes, as well as OSU athletic department staff members, information on voter registration. Those in attendance will also have the opportunity to register to vote.
Monica Dudley, who earned a master's degree in political science from Oklahoma State, will speak at the event, and representatives of the Payne County Election Board will also be in attendance.
“Apart from being student-athletes, we're citizens, and it's important to exercise the right to vote because a lot of people fought for this right,” said SAAC President and Cowgirl soccer player Yolanda Odenyo. “If you don't vote, you can't complain.
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don't have any. The ballot is our power as citizens.”
