OSU's Hjalmarsen Wins Norway National Title

Oklahoma State's Tone Hjalmarsen is the 2008 Norwegian National Champion in the 10,000 meter run after running a 34:44.22 at the Norwegian National Track and Field Championship in Trondheim, Norway, on July 18th. This was the Cowgirl standout's first national championship in a junior or senior event.
"This was a big accomplishment for Tone," OSU coach Rene Sepulveda said. "She has grown so much in the past couple of years. She is moving up in the Big 12 and in the NCAA competition as well. We are proud of the progress she has made."
A native of Bodoe, Norway, Hjalmarsen was an NCAA qualifier this past year as a Cowgirl and was selected as All-Big 12 in indoor and outdoor track and well as Academic All-American. She said the experience from competing with OSU in the NCAA's, the Big 12's and the Mt. Sac relays helped contribute to her success in Norway.
