OSU Football Plans Two Events
August 06, 2008 | Cowboy Football
Oklahoma State head football coach Mike Gundy has announced that Saturday's scrimmage, the first major scrimmage of fall camp for the Cowboys, will be open to the public and the media. Electronic media will be allowed to shoot the first 30 minutes of the workout.
The event is set for 5 p.m. and will be held in Boone Pickens Stadium.
Gundy has also announced that OSU is extending an invitation to all public servants in the state of Oklahoma, including military personnel, law enforcement officials and firefighters, to attend a special practice on Aug. 15. The practice will be from 5-7 p.m. in the stadium with gates opening at 4:30 p.m. for the special visitors (with south stadium parking). An occupational identification is all that will be required for admission for public servants and their families. A special “meet and greet” session with the football team will follow the workout. Due to time constraints, the student-athletes will not be able to participate in an autograph session.
“There are a lot of people out there performing important duties every day without a lot of attention or thanks,” Gundy said. “This practice is a small gesture and is just something we wanted to do to show the appreciation of the Cowboy football program.”
OSU completed its first day of two practices on Tuesday. The Cowboys will work out once on Wednesday and then twice again on Thursday.
