An Oklahoma native and former tight end who has grown into a standout offensive lineman ... All-American at Snow and helped lead his squad to the junior college national championship game ... First-team All-America selection by JC Gridwire and the NJCAA ... Also an all-conference and all-region selection ... Played on a national runner-up squad at Dixie College as well as at Snow ... Snow generated 457 yards of offense per game in 2007.
High School: Was an all-conference and all-district selection at Choctaw.
Personal: Born June 12, 1985, in Wichita Falls ... Son of Ted and Laurel Mitchell ... Has two brothers and three sisters ... Journalism/broadcasting major ... Had lots of opportunities coming out of junior college and considered Brigham Young, Arizona, Arizona State, Kansas and North Carolina State, among others ... Began his career at Dixie Community College, but departed after his freshman season on a two-year Mormon mission . . . Made the position switch from tight end to tackle at Snow.
