OSU Hosts Public Servants At Friday Practice

Oklahoma State conducted another football practice Friday evening on the eve of Saturday's closed scrimmage.
“We had a good practice today – very spirited, very enthusiastic,” head coach Mike Gundy said. “I thought the coaches did a really nice job of getting their message across to their players.
“The defense had a really nice day,” he added. They put a lot of pressure on the offense. We got better today in all areas, but I thought the defense performed really well.”
OSU invited public servants to the Friday practice as guests of the Cowboys.
“It was a good day. It was a lot of fun,” Gundy said. “We had our public service day with some of the military, policemen and firemen (in attendance): people that serve our community and don't get enough gratitude for it.”
Gundy confirmed Friday that sophomore receiver William Cole will miss the upcoming season with a knee injury suffered in a non-contact drill on Wednesday.
“It's important that our team take good care of him right now,” the fourth-year head coach said. “Our team needs to keep him in the loop. An injury like that to an athlete is a difficult situation. But we have a good group of guys on this team and good team chemistry and it's their job to keep him in the loop.”
Cole played last season as a true freshman and will utilize his redshirt season in 2008.
