Football Camp Rolls On At OSU
August 14, 2008 | Cowboy Football
The Oklahoma State football team went through a spirited two-hour workout Wednesday night as the Cowboys concluded their second full week of fall camp.
OSU has its final two-a-day practice schedule set for Thursday.
“We had a good practice -- a lot of scrimmage situations,” said head coach Mike Gundy following the workout. “There was a lot of tackling. We put our offense and defense in difficult situations to try to create a game type scenario as best we could.”
Gundy told the media after practice that the battle for the No. 2 spot on the quarterback depth chart continues between sophomore Alex Cate and redshirt freshman Brandon Weeden.
“They're all key (practices) from here on out,” Gundy said regarding his understudy quarterbacks. “They're competing and they're so close that it's difficult to make a decision right now. What we've done is cut back on Zac's (Robinson) reps and given each of them more reps because we're just not sure right now who that guy is. But these are important practices for them.”
Following the scheduled two workouts on Thursday, OSU will practice once on Friday and conduct its second scrimmage of the fall on Saturday.
