Cowgirls Finish Spring Season With Draw
April 06, 2008 | Cowgirl Soccer
COLLEGE STATION, Texas  Oklahoma State scored a pair of second-half goals to earn a 2-2 tie against Texas A&M in the Cowgirls' final game of the spring exhibition season.
OSU trailed by a goal at halftime and fell behind 2-0 in the second half. But Siera Strawser scored on a header off a corner kick from Annika Niemeier to cut the Cowgirls' deficit to one, and Yolanda Odenyo netted the equalizer later in the half.
“It was a good game between two very talented teams,” said OSU head coach Colin Carmichael. “We got down 2-0 and it looked like the floodgates could open for them, but our girls fought back and even had some very good opportunities to win it late.
“Any time you can play a team as talented as Texas A&M on the road and get a tie, it's a good accomplishment.”
The Cowgirls finished the spring season with a 7-0-1 mark and outscored their opponents by a 15-2 margin. Odenyo led OSU with six goals, while Kasey Langdon finished with five.
