April 29, 2008 | Cowboy Baseball
STILLWATER, Okla. Â On the strength of a nine-game winning streak, Oklahoma State moved into the Top 10 in three national baseball polls released Monday.
The Cowboys are ranked No. 9 by Baseball America and in the USA Today/ESPN coaches' poll. Those rankings mark OSU¹s highest since they were ranked ninth in the final Baseball America poll and eighth in the final coaches' poll following a College World Series appearance in 1999.
OSU is also ranked 10th in the latest NCBWA poll.
The Cowboys are 32-11 overall and in third place in the Big 12 Conference standings at 14-7. OSU has won its last four league series, including back-to-back series sweeps of Texas and Kansas. They have series wins over Texas A&M and Nebraska, the two teams ahead of them in the conference standings, and have also won series against Missouri and Texas, the fourth- and fifth-place teams in the league.
Coach Frank Anderson's ballclub is 13-6 against ranked teams this season, including an 8-4 mark against opponents ranked in the Top 10.
