Cowgirls Have Strong Outing at Sooner Open

NORMAN, Okla. - The Oklahoma State women's track and field team had another successful day at the Sooner Open Saturday, including several personal-best times.
Senior Lauren McKee had a personal-best 200-meter dash time, finishing the event in 24.58 seconds. She also ran the 100-meter dash, finishing in 12.15 seconds.
Several Cowgirls joined McKee with personal bests, including freshman Irene Masai in the 800-meter run, freshman Brandi Andrews in her first 1,500-meter run, freshman Clarissa Andrews in the triple jump, senior Deleanor Kirkpatrick in the hammer throw and sophomore Sabrena Switzer in the javelin throw.
Andrews's triple jump mark was her first time to clear 12 meters.
The Oklahoma State relay team achieved a season-best mark as McKee, senior Tihana Sarac, sophomore Baiba Blumbaha and senior Fey Bashorun finished the 4 x 100-meter relay in 46.92 seconds, just over a second from qualifying for the NCAA regional.
"It wasn't a great day," coach Rene Sepulveda said. "It was kind of low key, but overall it was a good day because we had a lot of (personal-best times)."
