Cowgirls Remain Undefeated In Spring Season

OXFORD, Miss. — Oklahoma State improved to 4-0 during the spring exhibition season with a pair of shutout wins Saturday.
The Cowgirls topped Alabama-Birmingham, 3-0, in their first match before capping the day with a 1-0 win over host Mississippi.
Coach Colin Carmichael was pleased with the effort of his squad, which has yet to be scored upon this spring.
“This was a good weekend for us getting two wins against two good teams and not giving up any goals again,” Carmichael said. “I've been very pleased with our defense, not only our goalies, but our defenders who don't always get a lot of credit have played really well and are doing a great job.”
In OSU's win over UAB, Erin Stigler and Kaitlyn Gustaves combined for the shutout in goal, with each keeper player a half.
Netting the first goal for the Cowgirls against UAB was Kasey Langdon, who was assisted by Andrea Sartin. A goal by Yolanda Odenyo made the score 2-0, and Leah Hope notched OSU's final goal. Annika Niemeier recorded assists on the Cowgirls' final two goals.
Against the Lady Rebels, Stigler and Gustaves again combined for the shutout, and Katie Richardson scored an unassisted goal in the 1-0 triumph.
OSU returns to action Saturday when the Cowgirls host Arkansas at 11 a.m.
