Cowboy Golf Finishes Fourth At Barona Collegiate Cup

Oklahoma State's men's golf team recorded its low round of the Barona Collegiate Cup on Tuesday to finish alone in fourth place, firing an 11-under 277 at Barona Creek Golf Club.
The Cowboys wrapped up the 54-hole event with an 11-under 853 total to come in two shots behind San Diego for third place. Texas A&M strolled to a 20-shot victory after posting a 37-under 827 total.
A&M's Nacho Elvira claimed individual honors with a final round of 66 that pushed him to 12-under 204 and three shots ahead of the field.
OSU freshman Rickie Fowler produced the squad's top finish, moving up 11 spots into a tie for eighth at 211 after firing a 67 during his final round.
Fellow freshman Kevin Tway also jumped several spots on the leaderboard, finishing in a tie for 21st place after carding a 68 to get to 216.
Sophomore Trent Whitekiller turned in a 72 to finish one shot back at 217 and tied for 23rd place, while junior Trent Leon tied for 27th place after a round of 75 gave him a three-round tally of 218.
Junior Jon McLean posted his second consecutive 70 to finish at 220 and tied for 32nd place.
The Cowboys will be back in action on March 24 when they travel to Alpharetta, Ga., to take part in the U.S. Collegiate Championship.
