Blumbaha Wins Long Jump, Triple Jump

JOPLIN, Mo.  The Oklahoma State women's track and field team finished the weekend at the Missouri Southern Invite with top performances from senior Lauren McKee (60 meter dash  7.83), freshman Alina Istrate (Mile run  5:16.12), senior Kim Blomkvist (3000 meter run  10:29.16) and sophomore Baiba Blumbaha (long jump  5.94m; triple jump  12.38m). The Cowgirls also posted an amazing 16 new season bests records at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center in Joplin, Mo.
The Cowgirls also found success in the Distance Medley Relay as Teran Mixon, Irene Masai, Brandi Andrews and Natalia Kovtun finished in first place with a time of 12:16.50 on day one.
On day two of the Missouri Southern Invite the Cowgirls top two finishes came from senior Lauren McKee (60 meter dash  7.83) and freshman Alina Istrate (Mile run  5:16.12). In about ten races the Cowgirls placed numerous runners in the top ten.
