Cowboy At Big 12 Championships

The Oklahoma State men's track and field team will compete for the Big 12 Championship this Friday and Saturday at the Devaney Center Indoor Track in Lincoln, Neb.

Oklahoma State concluded the weekend with strong performances from a host of Cowboys. The best finish of the day came when sophomore Brad McNiff finished second in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 2:29.60 for a personal record. In the 800 meter run sophomore Sean Fleming placed fourth, crossing the line at 1:55.91. Freshman Daniel Storts finished fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 51.03 and not far behind was freshman Ryan Caldwell finishing sixth with a time of 52.00.

“The events we enter we'll do very well” head coach Dave Smith said. “I'm excited for Chirchir, Barnes-Smith, Watts, Jankowski and everyone else in the 5,000. I think we might be able to win that event”
