Hambly Named Big 12 Conference Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas  Oklahoma State junior Tyrone Hambly has been named the Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Player of the Week for games played Feb. 18-24, it was announced by the league office today.
Hambly led OSU to a four-game sweep of Gonzaga over the weekend as he hit .500 with two home runs and five RBIs in the series. The Cowboys' second baseman was 6-for-12 against the Bulldogs with four runs scored, two walks, a stolen base and a double and turned in a 1.083 slugging percentage.
A native of Adelaida, South Australia who transferred to OSU from Grayson County Community College, Hambly collected a hit in every game of the series against the Bulldogs, including a 2-for-4, four-RBI performance in the series finale. Three of his RBIs in that game came in the pivotal fourth inning as he blasted a solo home run and collected a two-RBI single.
Hambly was chosen for player of the week honors by a panel of media who cover Big 12 baseball.
