OSU vs. Cal Poly Quotes
February 17, 2008 | Cowboy Wrestling
“We just kind of started off slow. I think the 57 match kind of inspired the rest of them a little bit to just compete well and hard and find a way to win. I thought Dieffenbach did a good job once he felt his way through the first period. He hadn't wrestled in a while. Once he picked up the takedown and the near fall, he looked like he opened it up a lot.”
On the OSU Senior Class:
“Even for some of the guys who didn't suit up tonight, we have some great stories. Coleman and Nate came from two separate oceans and have been very important to our program. Jack Jensen has a great story, too. His best effort at high school state was a fourth place finish. Here he is as a senior knocking down some important wins for us. Every time Freeman wins it's an inspiration to everyone even the guys whether sitting out with a redshirt or part of the team. He has just been finding ways to win and obviously his competition is going to be difficult.”
On Thursday's Bedlam dual at
“With Bedlam coming up on Thursday, I don't think we will focus on anything but Bedlam. Still plenty of time for postseason preparation. Right now, it's about Bedlam and reminding ourselves that that match is not a given. We're going to have to wrestle and probably have one of our better matches to win. It's not a match that we need to take lightly. There are some seniors on this team that have never lost and let's make sure that happens.”
On His Team:
“I do believe we have become a lot better team. I think that for us to make another level jump, which we have to do to compete for a championship, it must start with our heart. We are not going to be too concerned about who we are wrestling or what we're doing. It's going to take a lot of heart. We're going to have to put our heart into this and make something happen.”

On His Match:
“It went pretty well. It's my first pin in college, so it feels really good. College is another level and I hadn't gotten there yet. And today, I finally got there, so hopefully I can keep rolling.”

On Neil Erisman's Comeback Providing Inspiration To The Rest Of The Team:
“Yeah, I think so because he kind of had that comeback there toward the end. That kid's good and he's young, so it was good to see him fighting hard at the end. I felt a little momentum and it kind of sparked with Erisman and it kind of got Dieffenbach going and it was a snowball effect to keep it going.”
On The Team:
“We're working hard and keeping a good attitude. We are not where we need to be yet, but for the time being we are on track.”
