OSU Coach John Smith
On Obenson Blanc's performance:
"Obe did well tonight. He seemed a little bit more relaxed. He kind of fell into some of the those matches early this season, where, if things did not materialize for him in that first period, he kind of went the entire seven minutes. You see a little sense of urgency from him in that second period. In the second period tonight, he did end up getting that takedown. He added two more in the third, if I am correct. You like to see a little bit of a breakout for that particular match. The guy he was competing was really similar to what he was competing against. It was a good little breakout for him, although I did not care for the first period. I like the fact that he identified a couple of the situations he had been in. There was definitely a sense of urgency there to make a difference."
On the match:
“You enjoy seeing the pins. There was a lot of hard wrestling tonight,” Oklahoma State coach John Smith said. “Overall, I thought there were a couple who were not ready to go seven minute matches. I did not think some of us were ready for full matches. I think we might have thought it would be easier than it was, and it was not. A lot of takedowns is what we needed against a team like Northern Colorado."
On Chris Notte's performance:
"He has probably been thinking of this day for a long time. He did not have a great match. He was a little uptight. It showed a little bit. He did grind it out as he got those takedowns in the third. You like to see that. Overall, it is a good time to get your feet wet. It is great time to get that win."
