Cowgirl Basketball Falls At Arkansas-Little Rock, 65-51

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. Â Oklahoma State's women's basketball team suffered its second defeat of the season on Friday night, falling 65-51 to Arkansas-Little Rock inside the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock.
Playing their first contest since Nov. 26, the 19th-ranked Cowgirls (3-2) got off to a slow start offensively in the first half, scoring just 23 points. OSU was plagued by nine turnovers in the half and trailed for the first time this season at the break, facing a 28-23 deficit.
The Trojans (6-1) shot 46 percent in the first 20 minutes en route to their five-point lead.
UALR continued its sharp shooting in the second half and pushed the lead to 12 after scoring the first seven points of the second half and built the lead to as many as 15.
The Cowgirls rallied with a 9-2 run to cut the margin to 48-40, but could get no closer.
Chastity Reed paced the Trojans offensively, scoring 12 points in the second half on her way to 18 for the game.
Shaunte' Smith scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the Cowgirls. Andrea Riley also scored 15 points and added six rebounds and four assists.
The Cowgirls will return to action on Dec. 14 when they host TCU at 2 p.m. in Stillwater.
