Odenyo Named A Semifinalist For Hermann Trophy

KANSAS CITY, Kan. Â Oklahoma State senior Yolanda Odenyo has been named one of 15 semifinalists for the 2008 Missouri Athletic Club Women's Hermann Trophy, it was announced by the NSCAA. The Hermann Trophy is presented annually to the top player in women's college soccer.
A midfielder from Uppsala, Sweden, Odenyo led OSU to the best season in school history in 2008 as the Cowgirls finished 18-1-4 and captured their first-ever Big 12 Conference regular season championship. Along the way, Odenyo led the Big 12 and set school single-season records with 16 goals and 37 points.
Odenyo was named the 2008 Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and earned first-team All-Big 12 honors for the third time in her career. She finished her career as OSU's all-time leader in goals and points.
Division I college head coaches who are current members of the NSCAA will vote to determine the 2008 MAC Hermann Trophy recipient. The three finalists for the award will be announced Dec. 12 and invited to the Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis for a news conference on Jan. 9, 2009, where the winner will be announced.
