Rosholt Set To Compete At NWCA All-Star Classic Tonight

STILLWATER, Okla. – Oklahoma State wrestler Jared Rosholt, the No. 1-ranked heavyweight in the nation, will compete at the NWCA All-Star Classic tonight at St. John Arena in Columbus, Ohio, where he will square off against No. 3 Kyle Massey of Wisconsin. The event starts at 6 p.m. Central Time.
The reigning Big 12 heavyweight champion and the highest returning placer from the 2008 NCAA Wrestling Championships, Rosholt (6-0 overall with five pins in 2008-09) is the consensus No. 1 pick in his weight class this year, but Massey provides formidable opposition as a returning All-American.
Rosholt and Massey have never faced each other head to head, but Rosholt is 12-5 against ranked opponents since the beginning of last season.
Rosholt's appearance in the NWCA All-Star Classic makes him the latest Cowboy to compete in the elite invitation-only event. Since the inception of the All-Star Classic in 1967, Oklahoma State has been represented 80 times, with Rosholt's appearance this year being the 81st. That total is the highest of any wrestling program in the nation. Cowboy wrestlers have combined to compile a 38-36-6 overall record at the NWCA All-Star Matches.
The event will be broadcast live on . The All-Star Classic also will air on ESPNU on tape delay at 10 p.m. ET Dec. 4.
