Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy
On the game
“It was good to get that victory and get back on the winning track. I thought we started sluggish overall as a team, especially offensively we started off sloppy. Zac (Robinson) made a poor throw early, and Kendall (Hunter) turned the ball over early and that's uncharacteristic for us. Defense kept us in it. I thought they played hard.
“We were effective running the ball, and they were defending that play and when that happens it makes you somewhat vulnerable to the play action pass.”
“I thought number seven for them (Kennard Banks) played Dez well. He was up in his face and got his hands on him a couple times. Dez just outjumped him. But for the most part, I thought he did a nice job. Dez's strength is when the ball is in the air.”
On Artrell Woods' catch
“It was nice for Artrell to get out there and get back in it. He played some, and he's kind of getting back in it and into the speed of the game. It was good for him to get that catch. Artie's not an experienced player. Before he got injured he hadn't played very much. He's been working his way back, and he's been tremendous for us.”
Oklahoma State wide receiver Artrell Woods
On first catch since returning from injury
“It's a big relief. I didn't think I was going to get a standing ovation like I did. It really felt welcoming, and it felt great. I'm glad everyone was still watching. I didn't think it would take this long, but it happens.”
On his teammates' reaction about the catch
“Damian Davis told me, ÂAbout time.'”
OSU assistant coach Gunter Brewer
On Dez Bryant's performance
“I bet his best catch was that one he was out of bounds on. We could put that on the highlight reel and call it a day. I think he is unlimited as far as his athletic talent. As long as people are going to single him up and challenge him, he is going to respond. He responded well today. We were able to see them mixing up coverage, and Coach Gundy was able to call the right plays and get the ball in his hands. That's a good job from our offensive staff and Coach Gundy.”
On finishing the season
“I think the battle cry is always ÂRemember November,' so it is how you end not how you started. Our kids understand that, but we have a tremendous challenge in who we have to play at the end. That Texas Tech game is going to be huge, and then
OSU cornerback Perrish Cox
On next three games
“Coach Beckman gets on us every week about showing the world what we can do. We practice hard every day, and we just try to get better every week.”
On how it feels to play well in this game knowing that you have three tough games left
“Every week, we just try to take it away from them early. If our defense does well, our offense will play even better, and you know they always play well. That's how we feel.”
On being 8-1
“It feels great, but we are still thinking about that loss last week. We wish we could have that one back, but it still feels good.”
OSU quarterback Zac Robinson
On completing big plays on offense
“It's a lot of fun. That is definitely what we strive for. We want to get explosive plays. That is what we want to do. A lot of those plays in the throwing game were open today, as well as the running game on options and stuff. Most of the time, it's the other 10 guys that are not touching the ball. The offensive line played great, and they are a reason why we had so many big plays.”
On Jeremy Broadway's long touchdown
“You know, I was hoping he got to the other side of the 50, and then I saw his form breaking down. He is definitely one of the fastest guys on our team. He caught it and was gone.”
Iowa State head coach Gene Chizik
On Leonard Johnson's kickoff returns
“I think he did a great job. I've got to give a lot of credit to Coach Boulware and our special teams. If you really look at it, it's really one of the only the bright spots of our team. Lenny was certainly that today. He did a great job on kickoff return. He's been close to breaking them numerous times this year. He's got a knack for it and I think the guys are doing a great job blocking for him up front.”
“That's exciting (that he set a new record).”
On the game
“Big plays were the name of the game. Again, not being able to handle third downs. They played great, and I thought we played really bad defensively and we've got to get better.”
“When we got some turnovers early in the game, offensively, we really turned it over, and we couldn't capitalize on anything. It's been pretty uncharacteristic that we turned the ball over as much as we did today. I think we turned it over at least three times. We can't beat a team like this with those things happening.”
On Dez Bryant
“He is a big body. He's hard to tackle. He does a great job at screening people out and putting his body in front of them and going up over people. He did that, obviously, all day today.”
On the good play of
“That's what we have to sink our teeth into  the small victories of young guys who have shown up. I think that's happened across our team. The other thing is we're having a lot of them having to play on the interior of both lines. Curtis Taylor went out early and didn't play again so there's some more young guys getting thrown in there. It's just kind of a smorgasbord of underclassmen and freshmen out there at any given time.”
Iowa State defensive end Travis Ferguson
On coach's thoughts after the game
“Our coach told us it's not about football, it's about life in general. We all have bad times in life, but we've got to keep our heads up and go to work the next day or whatever the case may be. We just try to take it one game at a time. They told us, ÂDon't let
On the ISU fans and patience
“The fans have been nothing but excellent for us all year. They've been there every game, behind us all the way. We couldn't ask for better fans. I understand they are getting impatient, but we will get it together. We are making progress every week, so now we just have to put one together for them.”
On defense and tackling
“As a defense, we had to be hitting all the players, every play. They brought me here to make plays so that's what I intend on doing. I know I made a lot of mistakes, and that's something I'm going to get in the film room and try to correct and get better at next week.”
On ISU head coach Gene Chizik
“Coach Chizik is a very intense individual. He stays on top of every aspect of the team: offense, defense and special teams. He has a positive attitude. We don't have any choice but to feed off of that because he is such an inspiring person. He is a great inspiration to our team. His attitude is definitely contagious for us, and we have to catch on to that and keep our heads up.”
