Odenyo Named To TopDrawerSoccer.com Team Of The Season

LONG BEACH, Calif. Â— Oklahoma State's Yolanda Odenyo has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Season first team, it was announced by the online publication today.

A midfielder from Uppsala, Sweden, Odenyo has enjoyed a record-setting senior season for the Cowgirls in 2008. She leads the Big 12 Conference with 16 goals and 36 points, both of which are single-season school records, and was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year and a first-team All-Big 12 performer.

In a season full of records for Odenyo, she also set a school record in 2008 by scoring goals in seven consecutive games. She also now ranks as the school's all-time leader in goals (35) and points (89).

Odenyo has led OSU to a 17-1-3 record this season, and the Cowgirls captured their first-ever Big 12 regular season championship. The squad enters this week's NCAA Women's Soccer Championship with a No. 7 national ranking, which is tied for the highest in the program's history.
