Each week during the cross country season, senior All-American and Big 12 Indoor champion Ryan Vail and freshman German Fernandez will give fans a text message-sized look into their lives with the newest feature on okstate.com, Text Messages From The Cowboys. Sometimes the topic will be cross country, sometimes it won't. This week's installment comes from Vail:
This was an exciting week for us as we were able to get out and race most of our team for the first time this season at the Cowboy Jamboree. We ran a very controlled team race and came away with a victory in front of a great home crowd. It was a good day for nearly everyone on the team, but most impressive was the effort by the freshmen. We're excited to realize our full potential when we add John Kosgei into the lineup for the rest of the season. We'd like to thank everyone who came out Saturday morning to support us. We hope to see a similar crowd at the Midwest Regional Championships in Stillwater on November 15th.
