Four Cowgirls Named Academic All-District

STILLWATER, Okla. Â Four Oklahoma State players have been named to the CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, including three Cowgirls who earned first-team honors.
OSU seniors Jessica Jarrell, Jamie Markaverich and Yolanda Odenyo comprise three of the 12 players on the District 6 first team, while junior Kasey Langdon earned second-team honors in the district.
Jarrell, a defender from Highland Village, Texas, has played in 80 games in her OSU career. She has started every game this season and has three assists for the 15-1-2 Cowgirls. A three-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 Conference selection and a three-time OSU Academic Achievement Award winner, Jarrell is majoring in nutritional sciences with a minor in health and human performance and carries a 3.78 GPA.
A midfielder from The Woodlands, Texas, Markaverich owns a 3.95 GPA in zoology (pre-medicine) and will graduate Summa Cum Laude in December. A four-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick who has been named to the Academic Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll eight times, Markaverich has recorded three goals and an assist for the Cowgirls in 2008.
Odenyo is earning Academic All-District honors for the second time in her career. She was a second-team selection in 2006. A native of Uppsala, Sweden, Odenyo is a two-time Academic All-American who holds a 3.73 GPA in family relations and child development. A two-time All-American and three-time All-Big 12 performer, she leads the Big 12 with 15 goals and 34 points this season.
A nutritional sciences-allied health major, Langdon is a two-time first-team Academic All-Big 12 and four-time Academic Big 12 Commissioner's Honor Roll honoree and owns 3.30 GPA. She leads the Big 12 with 12 assists in 2008 and ranks second with 10 goals and 32 points.
