Stigler Named Big 12 Conference Defensive Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State goalkeeper Erin Stigler has been named the Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Week for games played from Oct. 14-20, it was announced by the league office today.
Stigler, a senior from Round Rock, Texas, spent time in goal for a pair shutouts last weekend as No. 10 Oklahoma State defeated Baylor, 5-0, and tied 12th-ranked Texas, 0-0.
In Friday's win over Baylor, Stigler combined with Kaitlyn Gustaves for the shutout as she started and played the match's first 73:12. Against the Longhorns, Stigler played all 110 minutes and recorded four saves, including two diving stops in the 109th minute in the second overtime period to secure the shutout and tie.
The shutout against Texas marked Stigler's third of the season and 18th of her career, which is the school's all-time record. She also lowered her goals against average to 0.87, which ranks fourth in the Big 12.
Stigler's honor is the third Big 12 Player of the Week award of her career. She is the second Cowgirl to earn league player of the week honors this season, joining Yolanda Odenyo, who was named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 14.
