ADELAIDE, Australia Oklahoma State's Rickie Fowler posted a 75 during the final round of play at the World Amateur Team Championship on Sunday to claim the top spot on the individual leaderboard at Royal Adelaide Golf Club.
Battling blustery conditions, Fowler managed just one birdie on his outward nine to make the turn at 1-over 38 before coming in with a pair of bogeys against one birdie to finish at 2-over par for the day.
For the 72-hole event, Fowler finished with a 10-under total of 280 to stand two shots clear of Scotland's Callum Macaulay.
Despite Fowler's effort, the three-player U.S. squad was unable to make up a four-shot deficit against Scotland in its attempt to claim the Eisenhower Trophy. The Americans finished with an 11-under team total of 569, while the Scots wrapped up the team title with a 560 tally.
Competing for Germany, OSU freshman Sean Einhaus carded a 78 during his final round to finish at 307 and tied for 102nd place. The Germans finished in a tie with Puerto Rico for 23rd place.
