Odenyo Collects Pair Of National Awards

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State All-American Yolanda Odenyo added two more national awards to her resume this week as she was named to the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week and the Soccer Buzz Elite Team of the Week for her performances during the week of Oct. 6-12.
Odenyo, who was also named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday, recorded four points with a goal and two assists last weekend to lift the Cowgirls to overtime wins against Kansas and No. 16 Missouri and help OSU improve to 12-1-1 on the season.
In Friday's 3-2 win over Kansas, Odenyo collected the assist on the Cowgirls' game-winning goal in overtime. Against the Tigers, the OSU All-American recorded the assist on the Cowgirls' first goal and then tied the game at 2-2 in the 71st minute with her 11th goal of the season.
A senior from Uppsala, Sweden, Odenyo leads the Big 12 in goals and ranks second in points. She is second on OSU's career goals list with 30, five shy of the record.
