Odenyo Named Big 12 Conference Offensive Player Of The Week

IRVING, Texas — Oklahoma State midfielder Yolanda Odenyo has been named the Big 12 Conference Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Oct. 7-13, it was announced by the league office today.
Odenyo, a senior from Uppsala, Sweden, recorded four points with a goal and two assists last weekend to lift the Cowgirls to overtime wins against Kansas and No. 16 Missouri and help OSU improve to 12-1-1 on the season.
In Friday's 3-2 win over Kansas, Odenyo collected the assist on the Cowgirls' game-winning goal in overtime. Against the Tigers, the OSU All-American recorded the assist on the Cowgirls' first goal and then tied the game at 2-2 in the 71st minute with her 11th goal of the season.
Odenyo leads the Big 12 Conference in goals and ranks second in points. She is second on OSU's career goals list with 30, five shy of the record.
Odenyo's honor marks the first time an OSU player has been named a conference player of the week this season. It is the third Big 12 Player of the Week award of her career.
