Cowgirls Finish Second at Kansas State

After the second day of competition at the Kansas State Invitational, the OSU women's track and field team finished in second place with three athletes placing first in their event.
Twelve Cowgirls competed in five of today's events. Alina Istrate was the lone Cowgirl in the one-mile run and she took first with a time of 5:55.64.
Junior Mateja Posavec finished in first place in the triple jump with a distance of 11.41 meters. Clarissa Andrews finished second.
Senior LaKendra Greathouse was the third Cowgirl to finish first in her event with a shot put distance of 15.25 meters. Merritt Dietz and Alina Roman also competed in the shot put and finished in third and fourth places respectively.
The three Cowgirls to run in the 60-meter dash were Fey Bashorun, Lauren McKee and Tekeisha Lewis. Bashorun finished fourth, McKee finished eighth and Lewis finished ninth.
There were also three OSU women competing in the 600-yard run. Freshman Irene Masai finished first among Cowgirls with a time of 1:24.47 and placed second in the event. Brandi Andrews and Teran Mixon followed Masai in second and third place.
