Cowgirl Track and Field In Action This Weekend

The Oklahoma State women's track and field team will compete in its second meet of the indoor season this weekend at the Kansas State Invitational. OSU will send 21 athletes to compete in the two-day event at Ahearn Field House.
The days are split with field events in the early afternoon and running events in the later afternoon. The first field events on Friday will be the weight throw, long jump and high jump. Four Cowgirls will be competing in these including Merritt Dietz, Deleanor Kirkpatrick, and Julie Radar in the weight throw and Destyn Stallings in the high jump.
Only two running events will be held on Friday, with Brittany Brewer the lone Cowgirl competing in the 1000-meter run.
Saturday's field events will include the shot put, pole vault and triple jump. OSU will be competing in the shot put with Merritt Dietz, LaKendra Greathouse and Alina Roman as well as the triple jump with Clarissa Andrews, Baiba Blumbaha and Mateja Posavec.
Most of the running events are going to be held on Saturday. The events will be one mile run (Brittany Brewer, McKale Davis); 60-meter dash (Fey Bashorun, Baiba Blumbaha, Kim Johnson, Tekeisha Lewis, Lauren McKee, Mateja Posavec); 400-meter dash (Jazmine Harp); 600-yard run (Brandi Andrews, Irene Masai, Teran Mixon, Kalea Tam); and the 3000-meter run (McKale Davis, Alina Istrate.)
The final running event on Saturday evening will be a 1600-meter relay and Oklahoma State will run an A team and a B team for the relay.
