Grimaldi Earns Postgraduate Scholarship

IRVING, Texas  Oklahoma State soccer player Niccole Grimaldi has been awarded one of 12 postgraduate scholarships from Mrs. Baird's Bread, it was announced by the Big 12 Conference.
Mrs. Baird's Bread joined the Big 12 Conference as a corporate partner earlier this year and created a scholarship program for Big 12 student-athletes graduating during the current academic year or currently enrolled in graduate school. The program emphasizes academics and citizenship. One student was chosen from each Big 12 school as a finalist and will be awarded $2,500 for postgraduate studies.
A native of Los Alamitos, Calif., Grimaldi is a senior majoring in marketing with a minor in nutritional sciences and carries a 3.94 overall grade point average. She is a three-time, first-team Academic All-Big 12 Conference selection and earlier this year became the second Cowgirl in OSU soccer history to earn Academic All-American honors. She has also been honored in 2007 as first-team Scholar All-South Region by NSCAA/adidas and first-team Academic All-District by ESPN The Magazine/CoSida.
Grimaldi is also actively involved in the Stillwater community. Her community service projects include working with the likes of Kids Across America, the Special Olympics, American Red Cross and the Y.M.C.A.
A defender who started all 23 games for OSU in 2007, Grimaldi helped lead the Cowgirls to a 14-6-3 record that saw them advance to the second round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship.
