Cowgirls Named Scholar All-South Region

KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Academic accolades continue to pile up for Oklahoma State soccer as five Cowgirls have been named Scholar All-South Region by NSCAA/adidas.
Senior Niccole Grimaldi and junior Yolanda Odenyo earned first-team Scholar All-South Region honors, while senior Sasa Jackson and juniors Jessica Jarrell and Jamie Markaverich were named honorable mention Scholar All-South Region.
Grimaldi is majoring in marketing with a minor in nutritional sciences and carries a 3.94 overall grade point average. She is a three-time, first-team Academic All-Big 12 Conference selection and earlier this year became the second Cowgirl in OSU soccer history to earn Academic All-American honors.
Odenyo was an Academic All-American in 2006 and carries a 3.72 G.P.A. in Family Relations and Child Development. She has been a first-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree each of the last two years.
Jackson is also a three-time, first-team Academic All-Big 12 selection and was a first-team Academic All-District honoree by ESPN The Magazine/CoSida this year. She holds a 3.72 G.P.A. in biology.
Jarrell earned first-team Academic All-Big 12 honors for the second time this year and carries a 3.79 G.P.A. as she works toward a degree in nutritional science.
A zoology major, Markaverich sports a 3.93 G.P.A. and is also a two-time, first-team Academic All-Big 12 honoree.
