Oklahoma State Puts Cap On Non-Conference Schedule

Non-Conference Wrap Up
The Oklahoma State Cowboys, 2-2 overall and 1-0 in Big 12 play for just the fourth time in 12 years, remain at home to host the Sam Houston State Bearkats in the final non-conference game of the 2007 football season. There is no live television. The game will kickoff at 6:05 p.m. Saturday night.
For The Record
Oklahoma State is 8-3 in non-conference games under Mike Gundy. Included in that total is a 5-0 record at Boone Pickens Stadium and a bowl win over Alabama. Overall, OSU has won 11 straight non-conference home games, dating back to a 2002 loss to UCLA.

OSU is coming off a pulsating 49-45 come-from-behind win over Texas Tech in the first Big 12 Conference game of the season for the league. OSU trailed 35-28 at the half and was down 45-42 before scoring its final points with just 1:37 remaining in the game. The Cowboys generated 610 yards of total offense. It was the seventh best offensive output in school history.
Scouting Sam Houston State
The Bearkats of Sam Houston State are 2-1 on the season and coming off of an open week. In its last outing, SHSU fell to No. 14 North Dakota State (Football Championship Subdivision ranking), 41-38. Former Oklahoma quarterback Rhett Bomar is under center for Sam Houston State. Through two games, he is completing 62.2 percent of his passes (69-of-111-2) for 819 yards with eight touchdowns.

For the Oklahoma State defense, it will be another week of a sky filled with footballs. The Bearkats will arrive in Stillwater with the Football Championship Subdivision's No. 13 passing offense (282 yards per game) and the No. 12 unit in total offense (462 yards per game).
