"It was a good first race for the team and I was pleased with how we finished in a really strong field,"Â said head coach Rene Sepulveda. "A lot of times the girls are rusty during the first race, but they ran very well today."
The Cowgirls return to action in two weeks, when the squad splits to race at the Notre Dame Invitational on Sept. 28 and the Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 29.Â
