Became a contributor on the youthful Cowboy offense with some key plays in 2006.

2006: Played in all 13 games ... Had a four-yard touchdown reception against Arkansas State.

2005: Played four games for the Cowboys and was officially credited with one assisted tackle.

2004: Redshirt season.

High School: Burton was named honorable mention all-state and first-team all-District 6A-4 by The Oklahoman his senior season at Enid High School ... Recorded 115 tackles and finished in the top 15 for Class 6A in that statistical category as a junior and senior ... In his senior season opener (vs. Putnam City North) Burton had nine carries for 68 yards and also had 13 tackles ... Participated in the 67th annual Oil Bowl in 2004 along with fellow Cowboys Justin Waller and David Washington.
