Cowboys in Canton
August 08, 2007 | Cowboy Football
CANTON, Ohio  When Oklahoma State's Thurman Thomas was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, his fellow Cowboy alums were on hand for the occasion. OSU head football coach Mike Gundy, and OSU alum and benefactor T. Boone Pickens, along with their wives, were among those in attendance.
Thomas, who played 13 years in the NFL after leaving Stillwater as Oklahoma State's all-time leading rusher, was a teammate of Cowboy head coach Mike Gundy. Gundy, in his third year as OSU's boss, attended the Cowboys' media day activities Saturday morning before traveling with Pickens to Ohio for the induction ceremonies Saturday afternoon and evening.
“It was a great event,” Gundy said. “There is so much more to it than what you see on television. I understand why people go there every year. I thought Thurman did a great job. It's very emotional for all of those guys. I was star-struck for two hours.”
