Preseason Accolades Continue For Odenyo

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State midfielder Yolanda Odenyo has been named a preseason All-American by Soccer America, it was announced Thursday.
Odenyo, a senior from Uppsala, Sweden, has been highly decorated this preseason. She is one of 46 players on the watch list for the Hermann Trophy, which is presented annually to the top player in collegiate soccer. She was also named a preseason All-American by Soccer Buzz Magazine and was a preseason first-team All-Big 12 Conference selection by the league's coaches.
As a junior in 2006, Odenyo became OSU's first soccer All-American and also earned Big 12 Co-Player of the Year honors. She led the Cowgirls in scoring with 18 points, which included five goals and eight assists. Odenyo has 12 goals and 12 assists in two seasons in Stillwater.
Odenyo and the 20th-ranked Cowgirls will open the 2007 season Friday at Cowgirl Soccer Stadium when they host New Mexico at 7 p.m.
