Cowgirl Soccer Ranked In Another Preseason Poll

STILLWATER, Okla. — The Oklahoma State women's soccer team has been listed in the national rankings for a third time this preseason.
SoccerTimes.com released its 2007 preseason poll Tuesday and ranked OSU No. 23. The SoccerTimes.com poll is voted on by 14 head coaches from the Division I ranks.
The Cowgirls are also ranked 23rd in the preseason NSCAA/adidas poll, while they earned the 29th spot in the Soccer Buzz preseason rankings.
OSU's appearance in the preseason rankings marks the first time in the program's history the Cowgirls have been nationally ranked entering the season.
The Cowgirls are coming off a 17-3-3 season in which they finished second in the Big 12 Conference and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.
OSU returns eight starters from last season's team, including All-American and Big 12 Conference Co-Player of the Year Yolanda Odenyo and Siera Strawser and Bridget Miller, both of whom were named to the Big 12 All-Newcomer Team in 2006.
The Cowgirls, who played to a scoreless tie in an exhibition game at TCU last Saturday, open the season Friday when they host New Mexico at 7 p.m. at Cowgirl Soccer Stadium.
