Cowgirl Track Adds Another Standout
August 24, 2007 | Cowgirl Cross Country & Track
Kim Johnson has signed a letter of intent to run track for Oklahoma State, head coach Rene Sepulveda announced today. The Houston native was a standout in three sports at Katy High School, lettering in cross country, swimming and track.
Johnson was a member of the varsity cross country team that advanced to the state regionals in 2005. In addition to her running success, she was also on the varsity swim team as a sophomore, junior and senior, advancing to regionals in each of her three seasons. Johnson was a four-year member of the track and field team and participated in sprints, hurdles and relays. She was all-district and all-regional in her junior and senior campaigns. In 2007, she was co-captain of the girls track team.
“We're excited to have Kim join the program. She will concentrate on the 400-meter hurdles and the 4x400-meter relay and we feel like she will be an asset to our team,” said Sepulveda.
