Delvin James

James joined the Oklahoma State football program last spring after 10 years in professional baseball. He originally signed with OSU in February of 1996, but was drafted in the 14th round of the amateur draft by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. James spent several seasons in the minor leagues before joining the Devil Rays in March of 2002. He made eight appearances with Tampa Bay that season, including six starts on the mound. He had 34-1/3 innings pitched in his major league career. James also spent time in the Florida Marlins' and Anaheim Angels' organizations.
High School: James played linebacker at Nacogdoches High School. He was named All-State for the Dragons.
Personal: Born Jan. 3, 1978, Delvin is the son of Curtis and Patricia James. He has a brother, Curtis, and a sister, Tiffany. Delvin enjoys fishing and restoring old cars in his spare time. His cousin, Damion James, is a highly touted freshman on the Texas Longhorn basketball team.
