“The defense made some nice plays today,” he added, “but the offense also had some big plays. I'm kind of torn as a head coach as to what I really liked. Both sides of the ball made big plays.”
After further review of Saturday evening's scrimmage, Gundy confirmed his first impressions.
“We had good effort,” he said. “We still need to tackle better. Offensively, it was pretty much what I thought. We need to cut back on procedure penalties with the twos (second-team). It's still early for the defense. They still make some mistakes scheme wise. I think we're further ahead as a team (than this time last year), but the defense is still going to need the next 20 days or whatever it is to get ready to play.”
The Cowboys are scheduled to hold their final day of two practices with workouts set for 10 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. OSU is in its last official week of fall camp with classes at
