Cowboy Baseball Summer League Report

The Oklahoma State Cowboys have numerous players competing in various collegiate summer leagues across the country this summer. The following is a list of those players with a few updates of how their summers are going.
Cape Cod League
is a member of the Bourne Braves. The Cowboy junior-to-be has started one game and racked up seven strikeouts in five scoreless innings of work.
In four appearances for the Wareham Gatemen, is 1-1 with a 1.93 ERA. The Cowboy southpaw has 24 strikeouts in 18.2 innings.
West Coast Collegiate Baseball League
Outfielder , who will be a sophomore at OSU this fall, has started 12 games and is hitting .119 with three stolen bases. OSU graduate assistant coach is an assistant coach for the Elks.
Texas Collegiate League
Infielder has been named a 2007 TCL All-Star by the league's coaches. A member of the Duncanville Deputies, Horner is hitting .136 in seven games.
Team USA
is the seventh player in OSU history to earn a spot on the USA Baseball National Team, and the Cowboy junior-to-be is part of a club that is 8-2 on the summer. Mercer has made four pitching appearances and sports a 2.25 ERA with five strikeouts in four innings. He is hitting .125 with two RBIs. Team USA opens a five-game series against Japan on Wednesday.
Western Baseball Association
is playing for the 14-2 Southern California Fire.
California Collegiate Coastal League
is playing for the Santa Barbara Foresters, who are the defending NBC national champions.
Northwoods League
OSU senior-to-be is pitching for the St. Cloud River Bats and has worked 9.2 innings in six appearances. The right hander has a 0.93 ERA and eight strikeouts.
New York Collegiate Baseball League
A trio of Cowboys are members of the Saratoga Phillies this summer. is hitting .293 with two home runs, 10 RBI and nine stolen bases in 20 games, while is hitting at a .244 clip with six RBI in 14 games. Pitcher is 2-1 with a 3.00 ERA in three appearances and has 17 strikeouts in 12 innings.
