Americans Cruise To Title At Copa de las Americas

Highlighted by a runner-up performance from Oklahoma State's Jonathan Moore, the U.S. squad captured the team title at the Copa de las Americas on Saturday at Beacon Hall Golf Club.
The Americans entered the day with a 23-shot lead over the field and extended the margin after firing a 1-under 287 team score to finish with a 72-hole score of 1,180, 28-over par. Mexico finished second at 1,217, while Canada came in third at 1,219.
The tournament is comprised of four-player teams consisting of two men and two women and is a 72-hole event with all four scores counting each day.
Moore finished alone in second with his 2-over 290 total after firing a 2-under 70 during his final round. The Vancouver, Wash., native finished nine shots off the pace of Alan Wagner of Argentina.
Partnered with Webb Simpson, the duo also claimed the top spot in the men's standings with a 582 total and a four-shot victory over Argentina. Individually, Simpson finished tied for third at 292.
On the women's side, the Americans claimed the top two positions as Jennie Lee carded a 298 total for a two-stroke win over teammate Stacy Lewis. In the team standings, the pair posted a 24-shot victory with its 598 total.
