Cowboy Golf Finishes 15th At NCAA Championship

The Cowboys finished the event with a 1,142 total, 22-over, and two shots behind Florida State and Duke, which tied for 13th place.
Stanford ran away with the team title, posting a 1-over 281 score on its way to a 1,109 tournament total and a 12-stroke margin over runner-up Georgia.
Individually, Southern California's Jamie Lovemark took home medalist honors, firing his second consecutive 6-under 64 during his final round. The Trojan freshman began the day tied for 11th place, but claimed a two-shot victory over Kyle Stanley of Clemson with his 9-under 271 total.
Sophomore Trent Leon came in as the top OSU individual, tying for 15th place at 279 after carding a 1-under 69 for the third consecutive day. Starting on the back nine on Saturday, the Dallas, Texas native made the turn at 2-over after posting bogeys on Nos. 12 and 15 before playing a bogey-free inward nine that included three birdies.
The 69 also marked the fourth time in eight career NCAA Championship rounds Leon has broken 70.
Junior Pablo Martin carded a 75 to finish play tied for 49th place with an 8-over 288 total. The Malaga, Spain turned at 2-over before posting a 3-over 38 to finish the day with his 5-over score.
Senior Tyler Leon posted a 4-over 74 during his final round as a Cowboy to finish with a 289 total and tied for 53rd place, while fellow senior Ryan Posey finished his collegiate career with a 5-over 75 to finish in a four-way tie for 60th place at 291.
Sophomore Jonathan Moore stood at 4-over after taking a quadruple bogey on his third hole, but rebounded nicely with a strong finish to close with a 73. The Vancouver, Wash. made a bogey at the par-3 third hole to fall to 6-over on the day before closing his round with birdies on three of his final five holes.
The 2006 NCAA medalist, Moore finished with a 12-over 292 total and tied for 64th place.
