Oklahoma State Joins XM Radio's Sports Lineup
June 14, 2007 | Cowboy Football
XM Satellite Radio today announced that it will carry Oklahoma State football and men's basketball starting this fall as part of XM's on-air lineup of Big 12 Conference sports.
XM will be the official satellite radio network of Oklahoma State sports. XM plans to carry select Oklahoma State football and basketball games throughout the seasons. XM's 8 million subscribers across the U.S. will be able to listen to Oklahoma State games on satellite radios for the car, home, and portable use.
“For Oklahoma State fans, this means you can listen to Cowboys games on XM radios, whether you live in Stillwater, or 2,000 miles away in Seattle,” said Eric Logan, executive vice president of programming, XM Satellite Radio. “You can tune into Oklahoma State games virtually anywhere from coast to coast. This is all part of our strategy to make XM Radio the 'ultimate destination' for college football fans.”
"XM Radio will provide a greater level of service for Oklahoma State fans across the country by putting our broadcasts on fixed Big 12 channels and by offering a better guarantee of coverage including all of the Cowboy's Big 12 football games,” said Joe Merideth of the OSU Cowboy Sports Network.
In addition to carrying Oklahoma State games, XM will air a variety of Big 12 football and basketball games, including the Big 12 football and basketball championships, starting this fall. With the arrival of the Big 12, XM is now the official satellite radio network for the six power conferences in college football and basketball: Big 12, ACC, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-10, and SEC.
XM is also the exclusive satellite radio network of the Allstate Bowl Championship Series (BCS) National Championship Game, Allstate Sugar Bowl, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and FedEx Orange Bowl.
Overall, XM offers more than 5,000 live sporting events in 2007. In addition to its powerful line-up of college sports, XM airs every Major League Baseball game for every team. XM carries NBA games on ESPN Radio, the National Hockey League, the PGA TOUR, and the IndyCar Series, as well as Spanish play-by-play of baseball, soccer, and other sports. XM is also the leader in sports talk radio with the 24-hour channels XM Sports Nation, MLB Home Plate, Home Ice, ESPN Radio, ESPNews, FOX Sports Radio, and the Spanish-language sports channel XM Deportivo.
