Pablo Martin Named First-Team Academic All-American

Oklahoma State's Pablo Martin was one of 18 student-athletes named to the 2007 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America men's at-large team it was announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
An economics major, Martin was recognized for the second consecutive year after earning second-team honors as a sophomore. He was also named a first-team Academic All-Big 12 pick for the second time in his career this past season.
On the course, Martin repeated as the Big 12 Player of the Year and was tabbed as an honorable mention All-American in 2007. He was also named one of three finalists for the Ben Hogan Award, honoring the nation's top collegiate player.
The Malaga, Spain native posted his fifth career victory with his win at the Big 12 Championship in April and tallied three other top 10s during the season. Martin also made history this spring when he became the first amateur to win a European PGA Tour event, winning the Estoril Open de Portugal.
Martin made his professional debut last week at the PGA Tour's Stanford St. Jude Championship and will compete this week at the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pa.
