Cowgirls Head to Lincoln for Big 12 Championships

The Cowgirls, who placed ninth at last year's championships, will look to improve that finish as they will compete eight NCAA Midwest Regional qualifiers and many other athletes trying to meet regional standards in their respected events.
Oklahoma State is coming off a weekend where it added sophomore Merritt Dietz to the regional qualifying list in the discus at the Nebraska Invitational.
OSU will look to be led by seniors Zivile Siksnelyte (long jump and triple jump) and Moira Steyn (long jump), juniors LaKendra Greathouse (shot put) and Alina Roman (discus), sophomores Mateja Posavec (triple jump) and Baiba Blumbaha (triple jump) and freshman Hanna Holst (3,000-meter steeplechase) as they will also try and better their qualifying marks.
The Cowgirls could also get added support from senior Eva Slavikova, juniors Deleanor Kirkpatrick and Eva Tomankova and freshman Tone Hjalmarsen as they have the potential of scoring in their events.
The three day events will kick off Friday at 5:00 p.m. in the discus, while it will conclude into Sunday with the final event slated to start at 5:35 p.m.
